The starting signal: small but powerful
Founded in 2017, the company ANDERS & KOMISCH pursues a clear vision: to combine functionality, sustainability and freedom in everyday working life. With their highlight, the A&K MINI wallet, the two eponymous founders - Andreas Janthur and Maike Gutzmann - have not only developed a small space miracle, but also realised the dream of a location-independent lifestyle. ‘Our aim was to create products that are just as good today as they will be many years from now - functional, beautiful and sustainable,’ explains Andreas.
The idea for the MINI wallet arose from their own needs. They wanted a fully-fledged wallet suitable for everyday use in a compact format. However, getting there was not easy. ‘Two of us founded the company and started with a small four-figure sum. The first step was to develop prototypes and have a small batch produced,’ says Andreas. The idea was immediately well received at the first Christmas market in 2017 and the small wallet became a bestseller. Over time, the design was developed further, always true to the motto: ‘Keep it simple, make it work.’
When sustainability meets efficiency
Sustainability is a central aspect of their vision. ‘We produce in Germany and work exclusively with suppliers within a radius of a few hundred kilometres. This keeps our transport routes short and flexible,’ says the co-founder of ANDERS & KOMISCH. The functionality of their products takes centre stage: every detail is well thought out - from replaceable rubbers to innovative features such as the pull-out aid on the new MINI PRO.
In addition to product design, the efficiency of their business model is a key success factor. Andreas describes:
‘Billbee has been instrumental in simplifying our processes. We used to have to process orders manually from different platforms, now everything is centralised. The automated processes in particular, such as payment reconciliation and invoicing, save us an enormous amount of time and reduce errors.’ The Billbee multichannel solution can also be easily connected to Quivo so that orders can be automatically synchronised and sent from there.
